Custom spout pouches carry a moulded fitment and cap welded into the top seal, so a liquid is poured or drunk without decanting. We run them from 50 ml single serves up to a litre in PET/PE and certified compostable laminates, with child-resistant and tamper-evident caps available. The spout diameter is chosen against the viscosity of the fill rather than the pack size, because a thick sauce and a thin juice will not pour through the same neck at the same rate.

How a spout pouch is built
A Stand Up Pouch with a Fitment Welded into the Seal
A spout pouch is a stand up pouch with a moulded fitment welded into the top or corner seal during forming. That weld is the whole engineering problem: it has to be liquid-tight for the life of the pack, survive filling, and match a cap the customer can open. Most of the quoting time on a spouted pouch goes on the fitment, not the bag.

- Retort or hot fill. Both the laminate and the fitment have to be rated for it. A standard spout distorts in a retort and no film specification saves it.
- Child-resistant caps. A different cap and a different price, not a coating on the standard one.

How do I choose the spout diameter?
From the viscosity and how it will be consumed. 8.6 mm suits thin drinks, 10 mm handles purees, and wider fitments exist for products that will not pour through a narrow neck.

With a retort-capable laminate and a matched fitment, yes. Both parts have to be rated for it; a standard spout distorts and the laminate delaminates.
How is the fitment attached?
Welded into the seal during forming, not glued in afterwards. That weld is inspected on the first-off and pressure-checked as part of pre-shipment QC.
Do you supply tethered caps for the EU?
Yes. Tell us at the quote stage rather than after the cylinders are engraved, because it changes the cap tooling rather than the artwork.
Can a spout pouch stand as well as pour?
Yes — the body is a stand up pouch with a base gusset. Very thin fills below about 100 ml are the exception, where there is not enough mass to open the base.

Can the pouch be frozen?
With a freezer-grade sealant, yes. Both the laminate and the fitment have to be specified for cold, or the spout becomes brittle and cracks at the weld.
