Custom Printed Foil Printing Roll Film for Your Own Form-fill-seal LinePrinted Roll Film
Printed roll film is the same laminate we convert into pouches, slit and wound onto reels for your own form-fill-seal line. We run PET/PE, foil and kraft structures, printed by gravure from your artwork and supplied to your web width, core size, unwind direction and registration mark. It suits brands that fill in-house and want the print and the barrier specified to the same standard as a finished bag, with the same colour matched across both.

How printed roll film is supplied
The Same Laminate, Wound for Your Line Instead of Ours
If you run a vertical or horizontal form-fill-seal machine, you do not need finished pouches — you need printed roll stock that forms cleanly on your line and seals at your temperature and dwell. This is the same gravure-printed laminate as our pre-made pouches, slit and wound to your machine rather than converted into bags here.
What We Need from You
| Item | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Web width and repeat length | Sets the cylinder circumference; a wrong repeat means new tooling |
| Core diameter and roll OD | Has to fit your unwind and your reel lift |
| Wind direction and print side | Four combinations exist and only one runs on your machine |
| Eye mark position and colour | Registration on your line depends on it reading reliably |
| Seal temperature window | The sealant is chosen for your line, not for ours |
| Slip and COF requirement | Too slippery and the web wanders; too grippy and it drags |
Structures Available as Roll Stock
PET/PE, foil, kraft laminate, metallised film and recycled-content structures, printed gravure at up to ten colours with matt or gloss finish. If you are not sure what your current supplier provides, send a metre of film with the reel label and we will identify it.
Roll film also suits brands who start on pre-made pillow pouches from us and move to in-house filling later: the artwork and the laminate carry over, so only the conversion changes.

Frequently asked
Specifying Printed Roll Film: The Questions That Decide It
What do you need to quote roll film?
Web width, repeat length, core diameter, roll outside diameter, wind direction, print side, eye mark position and your seal temperature window. Six of those are on your current reel label.
What happens if the repeat length is wrong?
The cylinder circumference is set by the repeat, so a wrong repeat means new tooling rather than an adjustment. It is the single most expensive detail to get wrong.
Which wind direction do I need?
There are four combinations of wind and print side and only one runs on your machine. If you are unsure, send a photograph of the reel loaded on the unwind.
Why does the eye mark colour matter?
Your registration sensor has to read it reliably against the artwork behind it. A dark mark on a dark design is the usual cause of drifting registration.
Can you match the film I buy now?
Send a metre with the reel label and we will identify the structure, thickness and sealant, then quote against the real thing rather than a description of it.
What about slip and coefficient of friction?
Specified to your line. Too slippery and the web wanders; too grippy and it drags. It is set in the film rather than fixed on the machine.
Which structures come as roll stock?
PET/PE, foil, kraft laminate, metallised and recycled-content structures — the same laminates as our pre-made pouches, printed gravure at up to ten colours.
Can I start with made pouches and move to film later?
Yes, and many brands do. The artwork and the laminate carry over; only the conversion changes, so the pack a customer sees stays the same.
How is it packed and shipped?
Reels on cores, individually wrapped, on pallets sized to your unwind. Reel weights are agreed so your team can lift them without a hoist if that matters.
What is the minimum order?
Quoted per web width and repeat rather than as a piece count, because a roll is a length of film rather than a number of packs.
