The company was founded to build a production base for the SAYRU line of biodegradable products, on an 84,000 m² site with an annual capacity of around one hundred thousand tonnes. That started with film — compostable shopping bags, refuse sacks, agricultural mulch, lamination film — produced from a PBAT and PLA blend with corn starch, to the ISO 14855 method and verified by SGS.
What we make has widened a long way past that. The same extrusion, gravure printing, lamination and bag-making lines that produce compostable film also produce laminated pouches, stand up and spout formats, side gusset and flat bottom bags, roll film for form-fill-seal lines, rigid boxes and food service packaging. Compostable where compostable is the right answer; recyclable mono-material where a kerbside stream has to accept it; conventional laminate where barrier and shelf life decide the job.
Everything Under One Roof
Extrusion, printing, lamination, curing, bag making and quality control all sit in our own plant. That matters more than it sounds. When a brand colour drifts or a seal fails a drop test, it gets corrected on the line the same day — not negotiated across three subcontractors while the launch date moves.
Certified for the Markets Our Customers Sell Into
Compostability is certified rather than claimed: OK compost INDUSTRIAL and OK compost HOME from TUV AUSTRIA, BPI, DIN CERTCO and AS 5810 for home compostability, against EN 13432. Food contact is covered by FDA and LFGB. The plant itself is audited to BRCGS, Sedex, BSCI, ISO 9001 and ISO 14001, with FSC and ISCC for material chain of custody.
We work as OEM to a customer’s drawing, as ODM from our own structures, and with distributors who carry the range into their own markets.

Questions About the Company and the Plant
Is Sayru a factory or a trading company?
A factory. Extrusion, gravure printing, lamination, curing, bag making and QC all happen on our own site in Shenzhen, China. Nothing is subcontracted out and re-badged.
How long have you been manufacturing?
Since 2013. The company was founded to build a production base for the SAYRU biodegradable line and widened into laminated pouches, rigid boxes and food service packaging from there.

Can we visit the factory?
Yes. Visits are arranged by appointment so the lines you want to see are actually running. We also do a live video walk-through if travel is not practical.

What happens if a batch fails inspection?
It does not ship. QC runs against the approved sample during production, and pre-shipment inspection reports with photographs are issued as standard on every order.
Will you sign an NDA before we send artwork?
Yes, before any files change hands. Artwork, structures and tooling stay yours and are never shown in our own marketing without written permission.
Do you work as OEM, ODM or as a supplier to distributors?
All three. OEM to a customer drawing, ODM from our own structures, and supply to distributors who carry the range into their own markets under their own name.
